Match Report - 01 Jun 2023, RHP (Chelmsford) Bowls Club Club Friendly v Bocking match cancelled

Unfortunately it would appear that Graham Goodchild the Captain of Bocking Bowls Club, through circumstances whereby he could finally only get 6 players, which i invited him to let 6 come for two triples rather than cancel it completely, but he felt it was not possible strangely.
so with that i notified every one that the game was cancelled sadly.

This is the second match cancelled this year both in May, the previous being Witham who could not get a team together.
I have mentioned to Roger that we should think carefully about booking friendly matches during school holidays like half term , as players are tied up with their family events which they put before bowls, probably i would if i was not so involved as Captain, but also having a single life makes a difference too.
If it was a league match it probably would not be a problem, as they would make an effort, as they would be rellogated if they did not play their matches, where friendly matches there is nothing to lose by cancelling, apart from causing bad feeling.
