Match Report

Match Report - 29 Jun 2023, RHP (Chelmsford) Bowls Club Club Friendly lost to Halstead Courtaulds

Brilliant game all round . One shot on the first two ends. Everyone had a great time, at end no 9 of 18, number one players after their bowling, came in and made the tea, for the teams, which was very much appreciated. Bearing in mind we did everything ourselves, as in most clubs we find helpers to do the things we have had extra to do, but being an adaptable group of folk we managed very well thanks to number ones namely
Andrea, Jane, Lynne, and Colin Abbott. The tables had already been laid out with mugs, and biscuits before bowling.. Carol had kindly filled the cupboard up with biscuits as she noticed the planned event.
We played the football game instead of a raffle, where the winner Tony Garrett £10, 2nd Barbara Jones £5, and our Jane 3rd £2.50. leaving £7 to go to the club. .
The game continued after the Captain Keith Rojas, and myself did our remarks of thanks etc.
Very kindly whilst watching the match, and after his singles game, Vic Hilson, Heather who had marked, and Terry Green who was watching, very kindly put the various mugs and crockery into the dish washer , which was a tremendously very kind gesture...Terry told me that had been done, Dave Stephens turned it on at the end f the game.
Ref Monies. Our team paid their fees total £24, placed in the safe, as well as the monies separate from the football game.
I asked Keith ROJAS, do you make payment for for rink fee and Tea and Biscuits. He said, no we don't pay at away matches, like when you come to us you won't make any payment.
Incidentally we go to them in August 10th.
So basically its a mutual arrangement.
At the end of the game presentations were made by me to Captain Keith, small bottle of wine and a torch pen. Les winning team had a torch pen each.
The number ones who had been helpful by doing the tea duty also got a separate pen each to just to say thankyou.

Thankyou to

The winning rink details shown below.

Best wishes
