Match Report
Match Report - 18 Mar 2023, RHP (Chelmsford) Bowls Club Club Friendly lost to Colchester
Firstly i want to express my gratitude to my team for their playing today, and their comradeship is just amazing.
We had a great time at Colchester, Jenny Macdonald the club Captain made us so very welcome.
The game itself was difficult to master, as most players had not experience of indoor play, but their keeness to try and not be afraid to try was just brilliant, but saying that several of the team including myself play at the Falcon so we have indoor experience, but that did not help really that much because all bowls rinks are different in cloth, and causing bowls to be faster , taking several ends to get into a pattern of weight and line. It was a very fast green, but obviously those playing for Colchester had the advantage knowing whats what.
But never the less it was a great time had by all and my team was the highest for the losing side.
The meal after the game was just amazing with Chef Mark producing beautiful Carvery roast and lovely veg, followed by spotted dick for sweet.
So this being the last friendly for the 2022/23 season we now move on to the 2023/24 with a great feeling of hope for a great time, and supportive players.
thankyou again to all.
