Match Report - 25 Jun 2023, RHP (Chelmsford) Bowls Club Club Friendly beat Burnham
Todays match was a very very hot event, but made extremely welcome by Sid Curtis and his team of players.
We were provided straight away with tea or coffee, and the bar was opened.
I was introduced to Linda Ketteridge, i think thats her Surname.
This lady very kindly offered to play for Ian Drummonds team in place of our dear player who was killed two weeks ago, Namely Chris Montague, for which we held one minutes silence to remember our dear friend.
We had two ends with one point on the first two ends, and Jugs of water had been left nearby for dealing with the heat.
After 9 ends we came in for sandwiches and cakes, cups of tea, FOR WHICH THE COST OF BOTH RINK AND MEAL WAS TWO POUNDS.£2. which we paid on arrival., food prepared by Christine and Maggie, so much hard work.
Something for us to think about i would suggest.
The games were enjoyed because of the friendly attitude ..the heat was draining.
My team won23/12....Dave Oxfords team second 22/12....... Third Ian Drummond losing ..13/10..
Ray Johannessens team losing....16/10.
But it was a great time together, afterwards presentations were made, and words of thanks.
We then came home.
Due to the heat and kind welcome, i gave everyone one of my pens..
Thankyou to all the team from RHP for playing and various drivers for sharing lifts.
